Anchor Uno - More Than A Yoghurt

Like all Mums, I'm always on the lookout for new ways to keep my kids lunchboxes healthy, interesting and appetizing.  And, it's not always easy with so many options out there.  I've spent the last month learning all about Anchor Uno when I partnered with them to promote Ice Age Live! and I am rather impressed!  Anchor Uno is so much more than an ordinary yoghurt and man do the kids love it!

The Yoghurt:
First up, Anchor Uno is the lowest sugar kids flavoured yoghurt on the supermarket shelf*.  Available in four flavours - Strawberry, Mixed Berry, Peach & Mango, and Apricot, there is just 5-7 grams of sugar per 100 grams (depending on the flavour).

Anchor Uno is also a probiotic yoghurt and is source of vitamins and minerals for immune system support.  It contains no artificial colours, flavours or sweeteners plus there are no "bits" - parents of fussy eaters rejoice!

The Packaging:
Most schools are now "Enviro Schools" or "Rubbish Free Schools" so any form of food packaging is a no no or needs to go home.  Our own local primary school have no rubbish bins in the playground at all so sending yoghurt to school can be tricky.  Enter Anchor Uno in their resealable squeezey pouches.  This is one form of convenience that I don't feel guilty about (see the environment section below)

I'm sure there are quite a few of us who remember finding a leaked yoghurt pot in our backpacks!  Eeewww!  Forget the messy yoghurt pot and spoon, the durable Anchor Uno pouches are the ideal size for lunch boxes but sturdy enough to be safely thrown in a backpack (or handbag!) with no threat of spillage.  Likewise, they are the perfect grab and go snack when our busy kids need to refuel on the go.

The Environment:
Once the kids have refuelled with Anchor Uno, they can recycle or reuse the packaging.  Thanks to TerraCycle, New Zealanders are able to collect and recycle their Anchor Uno yoghurt pouches returning them free of charge to TerraCycle who will upcycle the pouches into children's pencil cases and carry bags or recycle the pouches in to new products such as chairs and park benches.  Returned pouches raise TerraCycle points which convert to dollars to be gifted to your local school, charity or community group.  Visit Terracycle for more information about how to return your yoghurt pouches for free!

The Entertainment:
Kids can also reuse their Anchor Uno Click Cap lids to make and create all kinds of neat games.  They can be used for making simple patterns for the littlest Anchor Uno fans or for making more advanced creations for the older Anchor Uno eaters by simply slotting or clicking the caps together.  Visit Anchor Uno for lots of neat ideas plus a place to upload photos of your kids creations and win!

I'm not sure about you but rarely have I ever seen a company go so out of their way to ensure that their product is tasty and healthy, with easily recyclable packaging which gives back to the community, and keeps the kids happy all in one!

  1. There is so much to love about anchor Uno yogurt, I learnt so much extra info from reading your blog so thank you. My favourite thing about anchor Uno is the lower sugar content, once I found out from your last blog that it was the lowest sugar content I was more enclinded to buy it, I used to buy the pots of Uno yogurt but like you said I've had the messy spillage of those through my sons lunchbox & school bag. So thanks to you I've started buying the uno squeezy pack and my son loves them.
